UK Grid Reference Finder
Find a location, click the map and copy its grid reference, eastings and northings, or latitude and longitude. A practical reference tool for site planning, radio surveys and sharing locations.

Use + / − to zoom. On a keyboard, focus the map to pan with the arrow keys. Liberty’s 3D buildings option is available after that layer loads.
Using the finder
Enter a full UK postcode, a place name, an OS grid reference, eastings/northings in metres, or WGS84 latitude/longitude in decimal degrees. Use a minus sign for west longitude.
Place searches offer a choice of matching locations. Postcodes locate a representative postcode centre; refine the marker to identify your actual site.
A grid reference identifies a square. The marker shows its south-west corner and the map outlines the input square. Changing the display precision changes the grid reference format, not the selected point.
Coordinate systems & accuracy
British National Grid coordinates use OSGB36 (EPSG:27700). Latitude and longitude use WGS84 (EPSG:4326). OS grid references apply to Great Britain; Northern Ireland requires the Irish Grid, which this tool does not convert.
Conversions use a seven-parameter Helmert transformation, with typical datum transformation differences of several metres. A 10-digit grid reference identifies a 1 m square but does not mean 1 m positional accuracy.
Use this tool for indicative location finding. For survey control or precision setting out, use an appropriate survey workflow and Ordnance Survey transformation tools.
