About this map
Coordinates are displayed as Eastings and Northings in metres, with the coordinate system identified. Northern Ireland sites use Ofcom’s published Irish Grid coordinates; other sites use the published GB grid reference, including extended references where applicable.
Antenna radiation patterns
The published Ofcom DTT technical dataset does not include horizontal radiation-pattern samples. A verified current pattern is therefore not displayed. Historical local-TV planning templates can be found in the 2012 Arqiva local-TV feasibility study, published by Ofcom. These are preliminary planning material and should not be treated as confirmation of current on-air patterns.
This directory shows transmitter locations and published parameters. The nearest transmitter may not be the one serving your address. Terrain, buildings, aerial installation and the transmitter network affect reception.
A multiplex carries a group of television and radio services. The UHF channel shown here is a transmission channel, rather than the programme number on your television. Ofcom’s technical file identifies multiplexes; it does not provide individual programme line-ups, which can vary by region and change over time.
Sites sharing a published GB grid reference are grouped into one marker. Regional variants, separate beams and different multiplex records are retained. Open a site’s source records to see the original published details.
Source: Ofcom digital television transmitter details, including both PSB_COM_Muxes and LTVMux_NIMux_GIMux worksheets. Source file dated 8 October 2024; retrieved 17 October 2026. This snapshot contains 1,133 mapped locations and 3,831 published multiplex records. It is not a live transmitter-status or programme-line-up feed. One record is explicitly marked by Ofcom as not currently on-air and is labelled accordingly.
Map positions are converted from published GB grid references, including extended references for Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands. At Sandy Heath, the source’s numeric northing conflicts with its grid reference; this map uses the grid reference and flags the discrepancy in the site details. Published coordinate precision does not imply a surveyed mast position.
Centre frequency is calculated as 8 × UHF channel + 306 MHz, with a +0.167 or −0.167 MHz offset where specified. A blank offset means no offset is indicated in this source. Blank technical fields are shown as “Not supplied”.
