About this map

This is a transmitter location directory. A nearby transmitter may not provide reception at your address: terrain, buildings, aerials and the wider transmitter network affect the signal you receive.

A multiplex (also called an ensemble) carries a group of radio services. Several multiplexes may be broadcast from the same site. Sites sharing the same published grid reference are grouped into one marker; published site names are retained in the details.

Source: Ofcom technical parameters for broadcast radio transmitters. Source page updated 5 August 2026; dataset retrieved 17 October 2026. This snapshot includes 723 mapped locations and 1,385 transmission records. Services are shown exactly as listed by Ofcom, including abbreviations. Blank fields are shown as “Not supplied”; this is not a live station-status feed and recently changed sites or services may not yet appear. Contains Ofcom information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.

The map uses OpenStreetMap tiles and postcode lookup from Postcodes.io. Your entered postcode is sent to that lookup service when you search.

Coordinates and antenna patterns

Site locations are displayed as Eastings and Northings in metres, with the coordinate system labelled. British and Irish Grid coordinates are decoded from the published grid reference at its original resolution. For Channel Islands sites, UTM zone 30N coordinates are derived from the published map position and rounded to 10 m. Locations are indicative rather than surveyed mast positions. Horizontal antenna patterns are shown separately for each transmission record using Ofcom’s published 10° samples. Missing patterns are identified; a pattern does not predict reception coverage.

Next: FM broadcast transmitters

FM transmitter locations and services in the 88–108 MHz band are planned for a later version.
